Oversupply continues to drive coffee futures prices lower leading analysts to believe that May and March 2001 contracts hit all time lows during the week that ended on February 7.
There has been little bullish news to slow coffee’s slide, which has been going on for months. Beneficial crop weather continued in coffee growing areas of Brazil, further adding to expectations of a large coffee crop. Also, the New York Coffee, Sugar and Cocoa Exchange’s licensed warehouse stocks had risen to 10,680 1 50-pound bags by February 1.
